'Cinnamon Challenge' fad could result in lung damage

A dare called the "Cinnamon Challenge" that involves swallowing a tablespoon of dry cinnamon without water and subsequently coughing and spewing it out may leave long-term lesions, scars, inflammation in the airway and even cause lung damage, according to a recent report. In 2012, at least 30 people who took the challenge needed medical attention, including ventilator support for some teens who had collapsed lungs.

Study ties stict lunch standars to lower obesity risk in students


           
Stricter school meal standards and healthier options may be the key to reducing childhood obesity, according to a recent study. Some say the findings support the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National School Lunch Program, which set maximum calorie limits and other guidelines for foods served in schools.
