'Cinnamon Challenge' fad could result in lung damage

A dare called the "Cinnamon Challenge" that involves swallowing a tablespoon of dry cinnamon without water and subsequently coughing and spewing it out may leave long-term lesions, scars, inflammation in the airway and even cause lung damage, according to a recent report. In 2012, at least 30 people who took the challenge needed medical attention, including ventilator support for some teens who had collapsed lungs.
